Performance Enhancement Incentives, Inc. is a boutique meeting and incentive travel company specializing in creative and innovative solutions for companies seeking to inspire production and loyalty in employees, clients and customers.  It was founded in 1995 by Colin Higgins to address what he perceived as an inadequate level of service offered to elite-level incentive client companies.  Since that time, PEI has served clients in the manufacturing, financial services, homebuilding and telecommunications industries.

Colin J. Higgins

A degree in physics and experience working on classified, high-acuity spy satellites does not seem like the typical career path for the owner of a business offering creative and innovative solutions in the incentive travel and meeting industry.  But a lifelong love of skiing and a desire to use his languages drove Colin Higgins into the incentive industry.   After working in the business for a few years, he founded Performance Enhancement Incentives in 1995 to address what he perceived was an inadequate level of service offered to elite-level incentive client companies.

As a business owner, Colin understands the need for a company to achieve its business goals.  He develops programs that will deliver the desired return on investment and inspire productivity and loyalty from employees, customers and clients.  His experience with countries all over the world makes him uniquely qualified to match an award destination to the demographics, culture and goals of a company.

As a strategic partner, Colin consults on the ROI of an incentive program, the “ROO” – return on objective – suggested frequency, budget and of course, the tax implications.  These are critical factors in structuring an incentive program.   And his extensive travelogue ensures an awareness of customs regulations and citizenship issues which can arise when planning travel for any large program.

Carolyn E. Hoffman

Born in England, Carolyn was an early traveler, developing a lifelong interest in exploring the uniqueness of cultures all around the world.

As Director of Operations and co-owner of Performance Enhancement Incentives, Carolyn is responsible for researching award destinations to find the best fit for a business considering incentive travel.  She excels in discovering unique locations that will ensure a memorable experience for clients.  And she takes great pleasure in putting together the right accommodations, meals and activities for groups of any size and budget.

Over the years, Carolyn has formed strong relationships with travel suppliers.  This guarantees that her clients receive world class service and the best possible value.  She negotiates all the operational details of a program – airlines, hotel, food and beverage, destination management companies, area venues and attractions.  And she manages any local agents needed to deliver services.  Her attention to the details includes choosing which wine will be served with a meal and then making sure that wine is served.

Before recommending a destination to a client, Carolyn personally previews the site and interviews the operators who will deliver service.  She conveys the client’s requirements via detailed purchase orders for every aspect of the itinerary.  And she provides this personal oversight for every program that PEI delivers.

Carolyn’s eye for the detail includes a post program line-by-line scouring of all invoices and purchase orders to make sure that everything that was ordered was delivered, and nothing was added without proper authorization.  Clients especially appreciate this level of care as it concerns their bottom line.

Carolyn has been delivering exceptional programs for over 20 years yet she never tires of discovering new ways to excite her clients.  The opportunities that the world offers are endless.  Carolyn’s journey of discovery continues.
